about this product

Antique Ivory Micarta® and CPM-154

In the Morseth® line, the 7" Sub-Hilt was one of our very popular knives. It was a devil of a knife to make and we finally got to the point where Bob Dozier simply refused to make it. This Sub-Hilt Fighter from Randy Lee is a smaller knife than that Morseth and has a nickel silver pommel, which ours did not.

The 5-1/2" swedged clip point blade is mirror polished CPM-154 at 60-61 Rc. The 7-layer handle is built of Antique Ivory Linen Micarta® accented by layers of Red Micarta®, Brown Canvas Micarta® and Faux Fire Amber, with black fiber and nickel silver spacers between the layers. Measures 10-3/8" overall and weighs 11.9 oz. Ships with a hand-tooled, brown cowhide leather sheath and a zippered storage case.

Lee, Randy

Randy made his first knife in a high school shop class. He remained fascinated and years later, after studying with local makers, he decided to get serious and buy the proper equipment; this was 1979. It was 1988, however, before he attended his first knife show. Since then he attends about six shows a year. A serious hunter, Randy field tests all of his designs. He wants them to work as well as they look. He is fortunate to have a wife who can make and decorate such fine sheaths. His sheaths are definitely a step above what is typical on knives of this price level.
