The Byrd line's smallest lightweight folder is the Starling. It is engineered to yield maximum cutting performance with a blade under two-inches. A ball chain threaded through the lanyard hole (included) lets you use the Starling as a keychain or attach it to a purse, pocket or zipper pull. Designing a small knife that feels secure in an adult-sized hand can be challenging. The Starling combines several features designed to elevate ergonomics and create purchase in the hand. The inclusion of jimping (texturing) along the spine and the thumb hole in the blade for one hand opening let you wrap your hand around the folder gaining remarkable control and precision over the cutting edge. Made from FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) the handle as a back lock is positioned midway on the spine to facilitate one hand closing. Its blade is high carbon 8Cr13MoV stainless steel coated in black Carbonitride that's hollow-ground and available in plain edge. Suggested retail $17.95. Made in China.
