Behring Made Pocket Hunter with Copper Guard and Stag Handle
Item #: JAB-1016S
An A. G. Russell Exclusive Version
I have known knifemaker Jim Behring for many years and met his son several years ago at the Blade® Show. At the 2016 Blade Show, I learned that James, the son, had set up his own shop in Montana and has branded his knives Behring Made. At that show, I arranged for him to make me a Stag handled small pocket hunter with a leather sheath that clips to the top of your pocket. This is a knife that was designed with my input and will be made in this configuration exclusively for A. G. Russell Knives™. We have waited several months to receive the first 50 and have just placed another order and expect to have plenty on our shelves through the end of the year.
The 3-1/4" blade is hand forged and hollow ground from 1/8" thick O-1 high carbon tool steel (non-stainless). The Copper Guard is silver soldered to the blade and black fiber, copper and green phenolic spacers separate the guard from the Stag Handle. The custom leather sheath, designed to be worn inside the right front pocket, or a back pocket, is also made in Montana by Warlander Leather. The knife and sheath ship in a zippered pouch.
I am really impressed with this fine little knife and have no problem recommending it to all of my friends.

I love the Behring Pocket Hunter! 10/10. This is an absolute little gem of a knife! Very nicely done. Qualitity of craftsmanship on both the knife and sheath are outstanding. Perfect for a fixed blade pocket knife. I have been a customer since 1960's when AG was working out of a little farm house in Springdale when I fist visited while living in Illinois. Have never been disappointed by any product I have purchased over the decades. Changes: Nothing on the knife. Possibly change the sheath clip to black for lower profile instead of the shiney nickel one. Otherwise, sheath quality is excellent. Jeff M. Los Ranchos, NM
