Limited to Available Handle Material

At the beginning of 2017, Browning® introduced a folder which they call Visual Effects. It is available in three different handle variations. The first, offered in our A. G. Russell™ Late Spring Catalog of Knives, has a handle of Wooly Mammoth Tusk which has been cut across the grain of the tusk, dyed and had all the cracks filled with black resin, stabilizing what would otherwise be an unusable, brittle and cracked piece of material. A second version offered to Knife Collector's Club™ members is the most limited. This is Mammoth Tooth that has been stabalized and dyed in what Browning is calling Blue. The color tends to be very dark, almost black, with highlights of deep blue and lighter blue.

This third and final version has scales of Mammoth Tooth that has been stabalized and dyed in brown tones, those colors most associated with this ancient fossilized material. The mammoth tooth used on these knives has been in the ground for tens of thousands of years and has picked up the minerals from that area. Because of this and the patterns in the tooth each handle scale will look different.

The 3-7⁄8" drop point blade is mirror polished 440C stainless at 58-60 Rc. The bolsters are mirror-polished nickel silver and the liners are stainless. A dual thumbstud allows ambidextrous deployment of the blade. Locks with a liner style lock and includes a tip down pocket clip for right-handed carry. Measures 4-7⁄8" closed. Weighs 4.4 oz. Made in Italy. Handle scales added in the U.S.A. Suggested retail is $449.99.
