Limited to 259 Pieces

The Buck 640XL is a tribute to six employees who have devoted 40 or more years of service to Buck Knives (thus the item number 640). In the 1970's, these young men were developing product for Buck and were an integral part of the move from California to Idaho to set up the new factory some 30 years later. Development of this unique, legacy knife was carefully thought through. It is based on Buck's 124 General, a knife they all owned and worked on 40 years ago. Consensus among the six men needed to be met at every detail and aspect.

The 640XL Bowie style blade measures 6-3/4" and is made from one of the first steels ever used by Buck, 440C at 58-60 Rc. Filework has been added to the spine. The handcrafted Elk Horn handle was chosen as a timeless material and accentuated with nickel silver and buffalo horn spacers. The guard and pommel are nickel silver. Ships with a brown distressed leather sheath. Representing the total number of years with the company the six men hold collectively, the XL is serialized with a total quantity of 259. (Sorry no choice of serial number.)  Measures 11-7/8" overall. Weighs 18.6 oz. Made in the U.S.A. Suggested retail is $650.00.

Buck Knives

Buck Knives has been around for a very long time. In fact, Buck Knives was just switching from handmade knives out of a Southern California Garage to factory made knives about the same time we began the A.G. Russell ™ Knife mail order business. Over the past half century buck has become one of the largest and most important knife companies in the world. They are so well known, in some parts of the country pocketknives are referred to as “Buck Knives.”
