The Xan (pronounced Z-ann) was designed by a special ops veteran from Fayetteville, South Carolina and is part of CRKT's Forged by War program. This program allows knife designers who are veterans to select a charity where a portion of the proceeds is donated. For Darrin William Sirois, that charity is The Green Beret Foundation.
This everyday carry folder is assisted opening using Columbia River's Outburst™ Spring Assist. The thin handle design fits well in hand and is lightweight. The front handle side is black Carbon Fiber over black G-10. The reverse handle side is stainless steel. It is a frame-lock. The 3-58" clip point blade is 1.4116 stainless at 55-57 Rc. with a fine bead blast finish. Measures 4-3/4" closed. Weighs 4.9 oz. Made in Taiwan.
