The Reverb XL is over an inch longer than the original model, offering a blade with an upswept design that provides plenty of belly for efficient slicing. Kershaw kept the conveniently slim height and width of the knife roughly the same as the original. So while the Reverb XL is a substantial knife, it's not too bulky in your pocket.

The blade is made of quality 8Cr13MoV stainless steel with titanium carbo-nitride coating for extra blade protection. Open the blade manually using a machined recess in the blade's surface; there's no flipper or thumb stud to catch on anything. A frame lock keeps the blade safely open during use. The front of the handle is made of blue-gray G10, an ideal all-weather material, with an attractive carbon fiber overlay. The back is stainless steel, also titanium carbo-nitride coated.

The Reverb XL offers a large lanyard hole and a built-in carabiner clip so you can easily clip it to backpack or harness. For those who prefer pocket carry, Kershaw added an extra deep-carry pocketclip so the Reverb XL can ride securely in your pocket during all your outdoor activities.

The 3-1/8" upswept blade is made from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel and has a hardness of 58-60 Rc. The closed length is 4-1/4". Weighs 2.3 oz. Made in China. Suggested Retail $44.99.

Kershaw Knives

Kershaw Knives was founded in 1974 in Portland, Oregon when knife salesman Pete Kershaw started a cutlery company that would make knives from his designs. Japanese based KAI Cutlery manufactured those designs. In 1978, KAI Cutlery purchased Kershaw Knives and the company, renamed KAI USA Ltd., continues today with three product lines; including the original Kershaw Knives, Zero Tolerance Knives, and Shun Cutlery which primarily markets kitchen cutlery.

Over the years, Kershaw Knives has worked with several custom knifemakers. Cutlery Hall of Famer Ken Onion, a custom knife maker and inventor of the “SpeedSafe” assisted opening mechanism, is the premier knife designer for Kershaw Knives. Kershaw has also collaborated with custom knifemakers Grant and Gavin Hawk, Frank Centofante, and Ernest Emerson. Kershaw has released models that were developed in collaboration with National Geographic, Jeep, Orange County Choppers, the American Professional Rodeo Association, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Kershaw manufactures excellent knives and has built a very strong customer fan base due to their innovative designs and their quality control.
