Order Details

Very Limited Quantity

Each year, Case offers several knives as S.H.O.T. Show specials. These knives are offered only to those dealers who place an order at the S.H.O.T. Show in January. Because the quantity is so limited, they are very desirable as collector pieces. One of those chosen for 2018 uses the Doctor's knife pattern. The Doctor's knife is probably one of the easier to recognize knife patterns available. It is believed to be one of the earliest patterns made by Case around the late 1800s to early 1900s. The Doctor's knife was designed specifically as a tool for doctors to crush pills into a powder form (a necessary process at the time) using the uniquely shaped, flat, squared rear bolster. This 2018 S.H.O.T. Show version has red jigged bone handle scales with a U.S.A. flag shield and USA etched in the nickel silver bolsters. Brass liners and pins. The blades are a 3-1/8" pen blade and a 3" Spatula blade of mirror polished Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless at 55-57 Rc. Measures 3-5/8" closed. Weighs 2.5 oz. Made in the U.S.A.

Case Knives

Finally, the W. R. Case Knife Company seems to be in good hands. The family that has guided the Zippo lighter company through so many successful years has begun to make a difference at their knife company. They have called back from retirement, skilled craftsmen who are teaching the current crop of cutlers. These new Case knives look more like those of the 1950's rather than those of the 1970's and 1980's.
