The Zero Tolerance 850 is an exciting Dmitry Sinkevich/Todd Rexford collaboration based on a spectacular custom piece the two knifemakers built together last year. Dmitry provided a drawing of an initial concept. Todd worked out the design details and décor. Together they went to work in Todd's Colorado workshop, sawing, milling, sharpening and polishing. Eventually, they built two completely astounding knives which sold almost instantly.

Zero Tolerance decided that two was not enough. They talked with Dmitry and Todd who agreed to work with the ZT team on a production version of their collaboration. The new 850 is the result.

The 3-3⁄4" modified drop point blade is CPM20CV stainless at 60-62 Rc. with a two-tone, stonewash-and-satin finish. This powdered metallurgy steel offers outstanding edge holding and corrosion resistance. Opens manually using a decorative aluminum thumbstud with a clear anodize. The thumb stud is echoed by the unique aluminum backspacer that has been turned and sculpted, then clear anodized. The handle that surrounds this unusual backspacer is built from a carbon fiber composite material that maintains the benefits of carbon fiber while enabling it to take color - in this case, a deep blue.

To keep the weight down on this big folder, ZT added their patented Sub-Frame Lock with a hardened steel lockbar insert. A custom machined single position tip up titanium clip with bead-blasted finish and black Teflon®-coated hardware add to the  appeal of the knife. Measures 5" closed. Weighs 4.3 oz. Made in the U.S.A. Suggested retail is $400.00.

Zero Tolerance Knives

Zero Tolerance knives has but one motto: We have zero tolerance for anything less than the best. Zero Tolerance knives are made in the U.S.A. and designed for hard use. Often abbreviated ZT knives, these knives have premium steels and tough handle materials. They are typically overbuilt and designed to withstand a lot of abuse. These knives are very popular with military, law enforcement, and first responders such as firefighters and emergency medical personnel. Recently ZT has expanded their line from just tactical knives, to include spring assisted knives, everyday carry folders, and gentlemen's carbon fiber folding knives. Many use ball bearing features and open very smoothly (just be careful if you try to take one apart!). All ZTs are built in Tualatin, Oregon USA. Zero Tolerance is a brand of KAI USA Ltd., who also owns Kershaw Knives.
