From the Manufacturer:

The Pure Komachi 2 Hollow-Ground Santoku's Asian-inspired blade works well for any job for which you'd normally choose a chef's knife. Yet the santoku's shorter length and blade design make it highly maneuverable. Many cooks find they prefer it to a chef's knife for most kitchen tasks. This one is not only razor sharp, it also features hollow-ground indentations on the blade that help food release more easily, which is especially handy for any slicing, dicing, or chopping task. The sophisticated black color adds a touch of class to any kitchen.

Like all Pure Komachi 2 knives, the Hollow-Ground Santoku offers brilliant performance. The bright colors on both blade and handle make Pure Komachi 2 knives fun to use and they add eye-catching color to your kitchen. What's more, those bright colors have a purpose. The color-coding helps guard against cross-contamination of food—for instance, by using the knife you just used on the meat to cut the veggies. The coated carbon stainless steel blades, hand-sharpened to a 16° cutting angle on each side, make quick work of most any kitchen task. The molded resin handles and comfortable and contoured for a secure grip. The blade coating is food safe and easy clean. While they are dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing to prolong the life of your blade as well as the colorful blade coating. Pure Komachi 2 knives now come with a matching sheath for easy storage.

The blade measures 7"  and has an overall length of 11-3/8". Made in China.

Kershaw Knives

Kershaw Knives was founded in 1974 in Portland, Oregon when knife salesman Pete Kershaw started a cutlery company that would make knives from his designs. Japanese based KAI Cutlery manufactured those designs. In 1978, KAI Cutlery purchased Kershaw Knives and the company, renamed KAI USA Ltd., continues today with three product lines; including the original Kershaw Knives, Zero Tolerance Knives, and Shun Cutlery which primarily markets kitchen cutlery.

Over the years, Kershaw Knives has worked with several custom knifemakers. Cutlery Hall of Famer Ken Onion, a custom knife maker and inventor of the “SpeedSafe” assisted opening mechanism, is the premier knife designer for Kershaw Knives. Kershaw has also collaborated with custom knifemakers Grant and Gavin Hawk, Frank Centofante, and Ernest Emerson. Kershaw has released models that were developed in collaboration with National Geographic, Jeep, Orange County Choppers, the American Professional Rodeo Association, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Kershaw manufactures excellent knives and has built a very strong customer fan base due to their innovative designs and their quality control.
