Bone is a beautiful handle material that adds a lot of unique character to a knife. Bone has been used as a handle material for millennia, and it's traditional. The most common bone used is the legbones of cattle, as it is both plentiful and denser than most bone. Even still bone is porous, and typically has to be stabilized before becoming a handle material, otherwise it will expand and shrink, crack and break. Stabilized bone is fairly tough, but it's still not as tough as manmade materials like G-10 or Micarta. The knives listed below have bone handles and are available for sale.
