Order Details

Vietnam was the first war we lost. It was lost because of people in the movie industry and the American media who did everything in their power to bring America and the American troops down. It is very important that we never lose site of that fact. We must constantly work to counteract the effect of those voices in our society while at the same time keeping our politicians focused on what is really in the best interest of this country.

These three knives commemorate the three branches of service who fought so hard for their country and the people of Vietnam, and came home to so little. If you know a Vietnam Vet, show them you remember.

The "Ka-Bar", called so even when made by one of the other great American cutlery companies, has been THE American Combat/Utility Knife since early in WWII. Hundreds of thousands have been worn away being used as hunting knives and as civilian utility knives.

The 7" blade is 1095 high carbon tool steel hardened to 56-58 Rc. with a steel guard and butt and the familiar grooved, stacked leather handle. Measures 12" tip to butt and weighs 10.8 oz. Made in the U. S. A. Suggested retail is $147.52.

KA-BAR

Soon after its introduction in the mid-1920's, the KA-BAR trademark became widely known and respected. There have been many versions of how the KA-BAR name came to be, but all evidence points to a letter received from a fur trapper. This particular fur trapper's testimonial turned out to be the most significant ever received by the company.

He wrote, in very rough English, that his gun had jammed and that he had therefore relied on his knife to kill a wounded bear that was attacking him. In thanking the company for their quality product the trapper described using his knife to kill the bear. All that was legible of his scrawled writing was "k a bar". The company was so honored by this testimonial that they adopted this phrase and used it as their trademark, KA-BAR.

KA-BAR is best known for their military production knives. They were chosen by the U.S. Marine Corp. as the primary knife producer for World War II. They also have traditional pocket knives, as well as many options for law enforcement.

Got my Vietnam Commemorative Ka-Bar today, sharp enough to shave, nice to get it so fast and it is just what I thought it would be, thank you all. I would not change a thing, wanted one of these ever since I came home from Nam...and for sure wanted the one honoring Vietnam Veterans.
