Kershaw Cinder Copper
Item #: KE-1025CU
$21.95
Designed by custom knifemaker Rick Hinderer.
Keychain ready and multi-functional the Cinder is the ultimate box cutter and handy all-around mini-knife. Its convenient small size makes it great to keep almost anywhere—on a keychain, in a pack, at home, or in the car. And when you do need it, this handy Kershaw opens manually with a thumb stud and locks into place with a liner lock. For eye-appeal, the exposed liner lock features cutouts that enhance the lines on the textured handle.
Copper handle scales give the Cinder a fresh look. While copper is heftier than stainless steel or glass-filled nylon, because the Cinder is so small, the extra weight is hardly noticeable. You'll especially enjoy watching the handle develop an attractive patina over time.
The handle pairs nicely with the stonewashed blade. Rick and Kershaw added an upswept tip to the blade, which puts the edge at a convenient position for cutting. Got larger hands? No problem. Just choke up on the knife past the pivot point for an effective three-finger grip.
The Cinder also offers multi-function convenience with a bottle opener on the back end. A large lanyard hole makes it easy to slip the Cinder onto your keychain, too. Small and light, the Cinder packs more punch than you might expect. The new copper handle just makes it even better.
The 1-3/8" modified sheepsfoot point blade is made from 3Cr13MoV stainless steel and has a hardness of 54-56 Rc. The closed length is 2-5/8". Weighs 1.6 oz. Made in China. Suggested Retail $29.99.

Kershaw Knives
Kershaw Knives was founded in 1974 in Portland, Oregon when knife salesman Pete Kershaw started a cutlery company that would make knives from his designs. Japanese based KAI Cutlery manufactured those designs. In 1978, KAI Cutlery purchased Kershaw Knives and the company, renamed KAI USA Ltd., continues today with three product lines; including the original Kershaw Knives, Zero Tolerance Knives, and Shun Cutlery which primarily markets kitchen cutlery.
Over the years, Kershaw Knives has worked with several custom knifemakers. Cutlery Hall of Famer Ken Onion, a custom knife maker and inventor of the “SpeedSafe” assisted opening mechanism, is the premier knife designer for Kershaw Knives. Kershaw has also collaborated with custom knifemakers Grant and Gavin Hawk, Frank Centofante, and Ernest Emerson. Kershaw has released models that were developed in collaboration with National Geographic, Jeep, Orange County Choppers, the American Professional Rodeo Association, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Kershaw manufactures excellent knives and has built a very strong customer fan base due to their innovative designs and their quality control.
