This limited edition Sprint Run™ version of the Police 4 showcases Carpenter® Technology's Micro-Melt PD#1 steel. An air-hardening, cold-work die steel specially formulated to offer both superior wear resistance and toughness. Its advanced alloy composition is further enhanced by the CarTech® Micro-Melt powder metal process, which ensures an ultra-fine, extremely homogeneous grain structure. Functionally equivalent to CPM® CRU-WEAR®, this high-performance steel is the heart of this knife's full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade.
To make this elite Police 4 Lightweight even more distinctive, its blade is cloaked in a non-reflective titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating and its fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle is injection molded in a deep burgundy color. Consistent with this stunning black-and-burgundy theme, its four-position pocket clip, lock bar, and handle hardware also sport durable black coatings.
A Sprint is a special production run of a knife not found in their regular product line. It may be a distinctive version of a current model or a discontinued model. Every Sprint Run is a unique, one time only event. The Police knife provides exceptional strength in a slim and comfortable carry. This is a big knife that rides in your pocket with surprising comfort. The David Boye Dent in the locking lever allows for a tight grip without accidentally releasing the lock.
The 4-3/8" blade is leaf-shaped and ground flat from spine to cutting edge for top cutting capability. The injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales are a deep burgundy color. Features a lockback and a black finished 4-way pocket clip allow for tip-up or tip-down carry and left-hand or right-hand opening. Measures 5-5/8" closed and weighs 4.2 oz. Made in Japan.
