Folding Hunting Knives

A folding hunting knife is exactly as it sounds. It is a hunting blade that folds up for convenience. The two most popular blade shapes are drop point and clip point blades. Folding hunters have been around since the 18th century, but starting losing popularity around 1930 as the modern pockets were too small for these larger folders. Al Buck invented the Buck 110 to get around this. He put his large folding hunter inside a belt pouch. You save the space of your pocket, while still not having a large fixed blade hanging from your belt. Of course nowadays you go specifically on hunting trips, and carry your gear with you, and usually you have lots of pockets so it's not as much of an issue as it once was. Lots of folding hunters don't even come with a belt sheath anymore.
