Ka-Bar Single Mark Fighting Knife
Item #: KA1320
$99.95
Designed to serve our troops during World War II, the Ka-Bar is still doing its job with honors more than seventy years later. During World War II, many American knife manufacturers made this style combat knife, but Ka-Bar's reputation was so strong that this style became known as a "Ka-Bar" no matter who manufactured it.
That same knife is still being manufactured in the U.S., and as has been the tradition, has always been marked with U.S.M.C., Army or Navy. Customers have been requesting this knife without those marks and finally in 2019 we see Ka-Bar has added that variation to our choice of "Ka-Bar" knives. This version will appeal to those of you who want the history and look of an original Ka-Bar but may not want it with a specific military insignia. It is simply marked Ka-Bar Olean NY on the obverse side with no mark on the reverse side. The same 7" Bowie style blade of 1095 carbon steel at 56-58 Rc. with an epoxy powder coating for corrosion resistance and to cut the reflection, and the same stacked leather handle and steel butt and guard. Measures 11-7⁄8" from blade tip to butt. Weighs about 10.1 oz. The included brown leather sheath in unmarked. The knife is made in the U.S.A. Suggested retail is $134.96.

KA-BAR
Soon after its introduction in the mid-1920's, the KA-BAR trademark became widely known and respected. There have been many versions of how the KA-BAR name came to be, but all evidence points to a letter received from a fur trapper. This particular fur trapper's testimonial turned out to be the most significant ever received by the company.
He wrote, in very rough English, that his gun had jammed and that he had therefore relied on his knife to kill a wounded bear that was attacking him. In thanking the company for their quality product the trapper described using his knife to kill the bear. All that was legible of his scrawled writing was "k a bar". The company was so honored by this testimonial that they adopted this phrase and used it as their trademark, KA-BAR.
KA-BAR is best known for their military production knives. They were chosen by the U.S. Marine Corp. as the primary knife producer for World War II. They also have traditional pocket knives, as well as many options for law enforcement.
