A.G. Russell Arkansas Hunter with Green Box Elder
Item #: AGLB-C362GBE
$125.00
Limited to 50 Pieces in this Material
We produced the A. G. Russell™ Arkansas Hunter as the 2012 Texas Ranger Collectible. It was based on a knife made during the 1920s by one of the smaller knife companies that did not survive the Great Depression. A.G. had seen it in one of the knife magazines a years ago and enlarged it a bit for the Texas Ranger series. In 2015, he reduced the size for the Arkansas Hunter. When we placed our order with the factory, we added a number of frames without handle scales to allow us to create different handle options. When we began using the Green Box Elder, we realized there was a small quantity of the frames left on our shelves. The wood we had bought was the perfect size. With this handle material, they will be limited to 50 because we will be out of frames.
The 3-1/2" blade is 8Cr13MoV at 57-59 Rc. The bolsters, caps, inlay and liners are finest quality stainless steel. Probably the best-made lockback you can buy today for anything close to the price. The knife is designed to be opened one handed with either hand. Using the end of your thumb in the oversized nail nick, it is easy to swing the blade into the open position. The blade is perfectly center ground. Measures 4" closed. Weighs 4.3 oz. Knife made in China, handle scales produced and added in the U.S.A.

A.G. Russell Knives
From the age of nine I made homemade knives until I was about twenty-four when I began to make handmade knives, crude but no longer made at home. A few years later, I had met and learned from makers like R.W. Loveless and R. L. Dozier. I made knives until the mid 1970s. I don’t make handmade knives anymore, as my hands aren’t what they used to be. However, I do have very talented makers in the United States and Japan who make knives that I am proud to put my name on. I design pocketknives, one hand knives, lockbacks, and fixed blade knives and have them made to our standards. ~A.G. Russell III
