Desert Ironwood Handle – 154CM Blade Steel
Our Shopmade® California Bowie is a tribute to Ed Henry. In my opinion, Ed's finest knives were his early "English" style Bowies. The guards were so well fitted you could not tell if the knives were machined in one piece or were the world's finest solder job. We have tried to accomplish that same fit.
The 8-1⁄2" classic Bowie blade is 154CM heat-treated to 59-61 Rc. It measures 1-1⁄4" at its widest point. The hilt, of 420 stainless steel, is fitted as precisely as we can manage. The handle scales are spectacular Desert Ironwood from the Sonoran Desert, which we have stockpiled for the past twenty plus years. Measures 13-1⁄4" and weighs 1 lb.-1.6 oz. The sheath is our own design and is handmade in the U.S.A. of first class American leather. We are proud of this fine American Bowie Knife and think that you will be also. It will be limited by the number of large pieces of Ironwood we can locate. Handmade in our own shop here in Rogers, Arkansas and marked "A.G. Russell Shopmade®".
