Buck's introduction of the Vanguard was their version of the Loveless Drop Point Hunter. Over the years there have been several limited editions as well as a few A. G. Russell exclusives. This is probably one of their most popular hunting knives. This year, Buck has again made the Vanguard a part of their Legacy series. The 2023 Legacy knives are limited to what is produced during the 2023 calendar year.
As with all knives in the Legacy Collection, hours of hand craftsmanship, as well as superior materials, go into each knife. In this version of the Vanguard, the 4-1/8" drop point blade is S35VN stainless at 59-61 Rc. The narrow tang knife has a handle of polished green canvas micarta with a high-polish nickel silver guard and butt cap. The reverse side of the blade is marked "2023 Limited Edition". Measures 8-1/2" overall. Weighs 6.4 oz. Includes a black leather pouch-style snapped sheath. The knife is made in the U.S.A., sheath is made in Mexico. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Suggested retail is $325.00.
