Since it was first introduced, the Paradigm has been my favorite Buck® folder. When it was introduced in 2010, they struggled with the consistency of the locking mechanism and eventually gave up on the design. It has been reintroduced with a reliable locking mechanism. This version of the Paradigm is a part of their 2023 Legacy Series. It is typical for Buck to upgrade an existing model and produce it in short runs as part of their Legacy Series. This limited production knife will be limited to what is produced in 2023. A lot of hand craftsmanship, as well as superior materials, go into each knife in the Legacy Collection.

The Paradigm combines Buck's Shift Mechanism with ASAP opening technology to create an assisted opening knife with a unique safety. The Shift Mechanism uses a rotating bolster to keep the blade from accidentally opening or closing. With a slight twist of the bolster and a quick flick of the finger on the blade flipper, the knife is easily opened. To close, twist the bolster again and fold the blade back into the handle. Then push the bolster back into the normal position. That locks your blade securely in place.

The 3-1/8" drop point blade is Bos heat treated Mike Norris Raindrop patterned stainless Damascus. The handle is Ivory G-10, bolsters are black DLC (diamond-like carbon) coated. The deep pocket clip is black DLC coated and is reversible for a tip-up right or left hand carry. Measures 4-1/2" closed. Weighs 4.8 oz. Suggested retail is $700.00. Made in the U.S.A.

Buck Knives

Buck Knives has been around for a very long time. In fact, Buck Knives was just switching from handmade knives out of a Southern California Garage to factory made knives about the same time we began the A.G. Russell ™ Knife mail order business. Over the past half century buck has become one of the largest and most important knife companies in the world. They are so well known, in some parts of the country pocketknives are referred to as “Buck Knives.”
