The CEO was designed to be unobtrusive. Tucked in a pocket, it could pass as a pen. CRKT has released two new versions: the Compact and the Blackout. The Compact, with a very low profile, does not give up anything on usability or ergonomics. It is the perfect everyday carry for cutting tasks that are less demanding. Also makes a wonderful folding steak knife. The handle scales are silver-gray glass-reinforced nylon. The Blackout is exactly what the name implies – all black. Much more tactical in appearance.

Both models use IKBS™ ball bearings in the pivot to reduce friction as the prominent flipper sets the blade in motion. The locking liner keeps the blade securely in place while in use. The Compact has a 2-1/8" blade of 1.4116 stainless at 55-57 Rc. Measures 3-1/2" closed. Weighs only 1.6 oz. The Blackout has a 3-3/8" blade of black coated AUS-8 stainless at 57-59 Rc. Measures 4-3/8" closed. Weighs 2.0 oz. Designed as an ambidextrous carry, the pocket clip, positioned for tip-up carry, is reversible for right or left-hand. Made in Taiwan. Suggested retail for the Compact is $69.99 and $79.99 for the Blackout.
