It's amazing how well this smaller version of the Nirk Tighe fits the hand. The origin of the knife was in 2010 when Brian Tighe and Glenn Klecker reinterpreted the Klecker NIRK™ custom folder, with a very dynamic stamped and machined stainless steel handle design. In this new version, the frame is given a green coating and the exterior is then satin polished, removing the green on the raised surfaces, giving it a two-toned look. Not only is the knife visually appealing, but it is an impressive cutting tool as well.
Like the original NIRK, this is a lockback folder in which the spring, release bar and lock detent are integral to the frame structure. Two pronounced finger notches provide a secure grip. The 3-1⁄4" blade is 8Cr14MoV stainless at 58-59 Rc. The blade shape is a strong drop point with a subtle recurve and weight-saving penetrations for balance. Easily opened with one hand, using a thumb on the holes or the blade flipper. At the blade pivot, a special caged mini ball bearing system gives fast and smooth opening action. The tighter the grip on the handle, the tighter the lockup, making this an exceptionally safe knife. Includes a tip-up carry, right-handed pocket clip. Measures 4-1⁄4" closed. Weighs 3.1 oz.
