Flavio Ikoma Deadbolt Lock
When I first handled the Deadbolt™ lock I was reminded of the Paul® Lock; further examination shows it to be far superior. A clever user-adjustable ball detent holds the blade securely closed and the flipper deploys the blade with authority. The lock design employs two steel bolts that pass through the blade and steel linings for a vault-like lock. CRKT tells us that when the lock was tested the blade broke before the lock failed! Unlocking is safely, and easily, achieved with a light press on the large button at the pivot. This is an elegant and refined mechanism that I expect to be highly successful.
Available in two versions, the Seismic has a 4" upswept blade of 1.4116 stainless at 55-56 Rc., with either a satin finish or black PVD coating. The IKBS™ ball bearing pivot system ensures it opens quickly and smoothly. The handle scales are black G-10. The deep pocket clip can be set for right or left hand tip-up carry. Measures 5-1⁄2" closed. Weighs 6.3 oz. Suggested retail is $150.00 for satin and $160.00 for black. Made in Taiwan.
