The Randall Trout & Bird is a small game knife and in the hands of an expert, an outstanding big game knife. This has been a much carried Randall model for many years. It is widely used by hunters, but is also carried as a general purpose knife. It was carried by U-2 pilot Gary Powers on his ill-fated flight over the USSR in 1960.

Randall Made Knives are the best known and most noted handmade knives in the world. The Randall shop has been producing Randall knives since the late 1930's with their knives being mentioned in both novels and history books.

The 4" blade is 3/16" thick O1 high carbon tool steel – non-stainless. (We include a 1.25 oz. bottle of our RustFree™ to protect the blade.) The top of the blade is sharpened. Full length narrow tang. Brass hilt and butt cap. The handle is Desert Ironwood from the Sonoran Desert. Leather sheath. Measures 8-1/2" overall and weighs 5.5 oz. Handmade in the U.S.A.

Due to Randall's high volume of orders, if A.G. Russell Knives does not have this knife ordered delivery is currently taking about 10 months. If ordered directly from Randall the wait is currently about 6 years.

Randall Made Knives

For over 75 years, Randall knives have been the best-known handmade knives in the world. No two Randall Made™ knives are exactly alike, for no jigs or patterns are used in their final construction. Large-scale commercial production with this kind of attention to detail is not feasible and that's why knives of this unique quality are not widely available.

Gary Randall, the present owner, took over from his father, W. D. "Bo" Randall, in the mid 1970's and the shop remains so busy that today it takes over five years to get a knife directly from them. We are one of the few authorized Randall dealers, and try to keep a stock of their knives. Because our orders with Randall are booked years in advance, if we don't have the knife that you want in stock, we can usually have it for you about 10 months, knives with stag will take a year or more. For anyone wanting to order directly from Randall the price will be lower but the wait will be extremely long.
