Sora knives are made with the exceptional handcrafted quality you have come to expect for the Shun® brand, but at an affordable price. Sora uses Shun's proprietary Composite Blade technology to bring together a VG-10 San Mai cutting edge with a Japanese 420J stainless upper portion of the blade. This technology puts high-performance material exactly where it's needed at the edge. The two blade sections are laser cut, then fitted together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Braze welding permanently joins them. The wavy pattern at the joint is based on traditional Japanese sword hamon lines. While the handle design is also traditional Japanese, the textured PP/TPE polymer blend handle material provides the contemporary look along with a secure grip and exceptional balance. Made in Japan.
As with all sharp knives, do not put these in the dishwasher or in a sink full of water. The best way to wash sharp knives is one at a time by hand. Keep your blades sharp with the A. G. Russell Ceramic Sharpener.
