This limited edition Sprint Run™ version of the Delica 4 showcases Carpenter® Technology's Micro-Melt PD#1 steel. An air-hardening, cold-work die steel specially formulated to offer both superior wear resistance and toughness. Its advanced alloy composition is further enhanced by the CarTech® Micro-Melt powder metal process, which ensures an ultra-fine, extremely homogeneous grain structure. Functionally equivalent to CPM® CRU-WEAR®, this high-performance steel is the heart of this knife's full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade.

To make this elite Delica 4 Lightweight even more distinctive, its blade is cloaked in a non-reflective titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating and its fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle is injection molded in a deep burgundy color. Consistent with this stunning black-and-burgundy theme, its four-position pocket clip, lock bar, and handle hardware also sport durable black coatings.

A Sprint is a special production run of a knife not found in their regular product line. It may be a distinctive version of a current model or a discontinued model. Every Sprint Run is a unique, one time only event. Introduced in 1990 the Delica was the first of its kind on the market and it opened up the knife market to lightweight performance, one-hand open pocketknives that just about everyone could afford. The Delica settled as one of Spyderco's top two bestsellers and the improvement hasn't slowed since.

The 2-7/8" blade is leaf-shaped and flat saber-ground with a stronger tip. The injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales are a deep burgundy color. Features a lockback and a black finished 4-way pocket clip allow for tip-up or tip-down carry and left-hand or right-hand opening. Measures 4-1/4" closed and weighs 2.3 oz. Made in Japan. Suggested retail is $170.00.

Spyderco

In 1981, Spyderco ventured into the world of knife making by introducing their first folding knife, the C01 Worker. This knife was the first in the industry to feature a round hole in the blade design that allowed for fast, one-hand opening, now the company’s trademark, and the first to feature a pocket clip. The trademarked round hole is the most recognizable feature of a Spyderco knife and it facilitates the easy opening and closing of these knives with one hand while also offering convenient access and maximum control while opening as well as accommodating large, small or gloved hands.

Spyderco’s recognizable appearance is a result of designing ergonomically functional tools rather than applying lipstick and nylons to a pocketknife. Spyderco’s knives may look unusual, but they will never be called unusable or undependable. When you purchase a Spyderco knife, you are buying a high quality reliable cutting tool that was designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort.
