Knife Seconds is a term in the industry referring to knives that didn't quite make the standards of our discerning Quality Assurance team. Knives are made seconds primarily due to cosmetic defects, although sometimes the action is not as smooth compared to the approved ones. Each second is a functional and usable knife and is denoted with a small notch ground into the tang of the blade.
