Sleipner is a product of Bohler Uddeholm, and according to them it is a variation of the D-2 Tool steel. It has improved toughness compared to D2, and isn't as likely to chip. Like D-2, it has excellent edge retention, and is easily machined. Can obtain 60-64 HRC.
0.90% Carbon (C), 7.80% Chromium (Cr), 2.50% Molybdenum (Mo), 0.50% Manganese (Mn), 0.50% Vanadium (V), 0.90% Silicon (Si).
