After the success of CRKT's M16 Special Forces series, they received requests from professional knife users in the military and law enforcement for the larger "Big Dog" size with a more versatile blade shape. CRKT talked to the designer of the series, retired Sergeant Major and Knifemakers' Guild member Kit Carson, and the M21™ special forces series is the result.
The blade is similar in shape to the Carson M21, but with the addition of a second Carson Flipper on top, resulting in a true hilt. The blade grind is a deep-bellied spear point.
All models features a stainless steel InterFrame build with black G10 scales and CRKT’s exclusive patented Veff™ Serrations with a blade steel of 8Cr14 stainless. Many operators prefer G10 because of its aggressive texture, light weight, and insulating properties in very hot and cold conditions. Now you have a choice.
Also included is, CRKT's patented AutoLAWKS™ safety, which turns the folder into a fixed blade when the blade is opened and locked. The safety still allows the quick and smooth one-hand opening and closing that our Carson series is known for. The ambidextrous thumb studs with checkered surfaces provide instant access.
All knives in this series are equipped with clip options that allow four-position carry on belts or webbing- tip up, tip down, left or right. (Caution: These knives are not designed for tip-up in-pocket carry.)
