Ka-Bar Big Brother
Item #: KA2217
$134.95
Designed to serve our troops during World War II, the Ka-Bar is still doing its job with honors more than 75 years later. During World War II, combat knives were made by many American knife manufacturers, but Ka-Bar's reputation was so strong that this style knife became known as a "Ka-Bar" no matter who manufactured it.
The Big Brother was designed for a lifetime of hard work and constant use. The 9-1/4" Bowie style blade is 1095 carbon steel at 56-58 Rc. with a epoxy powder coating for corrosion resistance and to eleminate reflection. Available with a serrated top edge and a plain bottom edge. Choose between the stacked leather handle or the black kraton handle. Both versions have a steel butt and guard. The leather version includes a brown leather sheath and the Kraton version a black leather sheath.
Measures 14-1/4" from blade tip to butt. Weighs about 14.4 oz. Knives are made in the U.S.A. and sheaths are made in Mexico. Suggested retail is $198.39 for the leather and $186.19 for the Kraton version.

KA-BAR
Soon after its introduction in the mid-1920's, the KA-BAR trademark became widely known and respected. There have been many versions of how the KA-BAR name came to be, but all evidence points to a letter received from a fur trapper. This particular fur trapper's testimonial turned out to be the most significant ever received by the company.
He wrote, in very rough English, that his gun had jammed and that he had therefore relied on his knife to kill a wounded bear that was attacking him. In thanking the company for their quality product the trapper described using his knife to kill the bear. All that was legible of his scrawled writing was "k a bar". The company was so honored by this testimonial that they adopted this phrase and used it as their trademark, KA-BAR.
KA-BAR is best known for their military production knives. They were chosen by the U.S. Marine Corp. as the primary knife producer for World War II. They also have traditional pocket knives, as well as many options for law enforcement.
