The name Kova™ has a Finnish origin, meaning "tough, hard, or demanding a lot of effort to endure." Designed by veteran knife designer Ken Steigerwalt, this front lock folding knife's strength and durability isn't just in the name - it's how it performs everyday tasks and challenges.
Ever since he was a kid, whenever Ken needed a knife, he would just make one. Now a renowned innovator with 35 years of designing knives under his belt, Ken introduces the Kova™. Inspired by older style midlock and lockback folders, Ken chose to create a front lock using the knife's liners as springs, thus creating even more space for the blade. Simplifying the internal mechanism also impacted the exterior composition, making the knife more convenient to hold, with far less need to change your grip when opening or closing.
The 3-1/2" drop point blade is 8Cr13MoV stainless at 57-59 Rc. The handle is glass-reinforced nylon in an olive green color. Measures 4-1/2" closed. The single-position pocket clip is in position for tip-up carry. Weighs 3.6 oz. Made in China. Suggested retail is $54.99.
