With the Venandi, Columbia River Knife and Tool has done a good job of producing a traditional folder using current technology and materials. This is a slip-joint. It is not a one-handed knife. With a very strong spring, it takes two hands to open. It is built with a very strong mid-way stop created by a square tang which A.G. would not have liked. Many folders, both handmade and production, are made with a square tang and are very popular. A.G. just didn't like square tangs. He had a very serious cut with a knife that had a square tang which landed him in an emergency room in New Jersey in the middle of the intense scare over HIV transmission.
This knife is lightweight and easy to carry. The brown and black G-10 handle provides exceptional grip and is accented by the stainless steel bomb shield and shaped pivot bolt heads. It measures just barely over 1/4" thick. The 3-1/8" California style clip blade is 8Cr13MoV stainless at 58-60 Rc. Measures 4-1/8" closed. Weighs only 1.9 oz. Made in China.
