A.G. Russell Forged Chute Knife with Thuya Wood
Item #: RU-TC975-TW
$315.00
It took A.G. 10 years of exhaustive searching to find a company that could, and would, make the forged knives he designed. That applied to this knife, but also to his new version of the A.G. Russell Sting. The entire knife, from tip of blade to butt of pommel, is drop forged. He finally found a company in Taiwan that forged his Chute Knife of Japanese 440C stainless with a very tapered tang.
At the 2021 Blade Show in June, we were able to purchase a small supply of beautifully grained Thuya Wood and are producing a small quantity of this beautiful Chute Knife with that wood. The quantity will be small and will be limited to how much wood we can find of this quality. The 5-1/2" clip point blade is 440C at 57-59 Rc., the optimal hardness for the steel. Measures 9-1/2" from tip to butt. Weighs 7.6 oz. Includes a very fine leather sheath in the Loveless Combat Style. Made in Taiwan. These handle scales are added in the A. G. Russell™ shop in Rogers, Arkansas.

A.G. Russell Knives
From the age of nine I made homemade knives until I was about twenty-four when I began to make handmade knives, crude but no longer made at home. A few years later, I had met and learned from makers like R.W. Loveless and R. L. Dozier. I made knives until the mid 1970s. I don’t make handmade knives anymore, as my hands aren’t what they used to be. However, I do have very talented makers in the United States and Japan who make knives that I am proud to put my name on. I design pocketknives, one hand knives, lockbacks, and fixed blade knives and have them made to our standards. ~A.G. Russell III
A.G. Russell has been in the knives and whetstones business for over 50 years. A.G. Russell knives are well known for their quality. A.G. Russell knives tend to be more traditional in style and look, with modern advances in material and design to create excellent knives.
