The M16 is CRKT's most popular series. The late Kit Carson designed the original M16® in his shop in Vine Grove, Kentucky. When CRKT introduced their first version, it skyrocketed in popularity. Over the years several versions have been released.

As part of their 2022 line, CRKT has brought the model back with three ground-breaking innovations: Deadbolt®, Assisted Opening, and IKBS™ ball bearing pivot system. Working in tandem, Ken Onion's lightning-fast Assisted Opening matches seamlessly with Flavio Ikoma's IKBS ball bearing pivot system, achieving a super smooth and quick deployment action. Besides the sheer speed, the knives also tackle the test of strength. Thanks to Flavio Ikoma's Deadbolt technology, once the blade is locked into place, you can trust it to hold.

The M16-02 and M16-04 models each have a tanto style blade while the M16-03 has a spearpoint. All knives have black stonewashed finished blades with black anodized aluminium handles. The steel is D2 at 60-61 Rc. All have a black coated pocket clip positioned for tip-up carry that is reversible for left or right-hand usage. Made in Taiwan.
