The Bel-Air from Kershaw® is a U.S.A. made folder with an unmatched opening smoothness, thanks to the manual KVT ball bearings and DuraLock technology. Confidently handle the blade as the crossbar secures it in place, and when closing, pull back on the handle button to drop the blade shut. Cutting wise, the MagnaCut blade steel holds an exceptional edge, and the reverse tanto blade stands up to the toughest challenges during everyday carry. The BlackWash™ finish hides use scratches and complements the bright nickel colored Cerakote® coated aluminum handle scales. Carry the slim profile easily using the reversible deep-carry pocketclip. You’ll never want to leave the Bel Air at home.

BlackWash™ is a name given to a specific knife blade finish. This is a variation of the Stone Wash blade finish which has become very popular over the past few years. BlackWash is accomplished by first coating the blade black and then adding the stonewash finish. This coating gives the knife that already broken-in look, like your favorite pair of jeans. The DuraLock, also known as a crossbar lock, is strong, safe, and easy to operate. The solid steel crossbar extends through both sides of the handle and engages with the blade tang, locking the blade in place. It can be operated left- or right-handed. The handle scales are made from durable 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, which helps to make this knife lightweight and durable.

The 3-1/8" reverse tanto blade is made from CPM Magnacut steel and has a hardness of 62-64 Rc. The bright nickel colored Cerakote® coated aluminum handle scales have black finished stainless steel liners. The deep-carry pocket clip is reversible for a tip-up left or right-hand carry. The closed length is 4". Weighs 2.9 oz. Made in the U.S.A. Suggested Retail $249.99.

Kershaw Knives

Kershaw Knives was founded in 1974 in Portland, Oregon when knife salesman Pete Kershaw started a cutlery company that would make knives from his designs. Japanese based KAI Cutlery manufactured those designs. In 1978, KAI Cutlery purchased Kershaw Knives and the company, renamed KAI USA Ltd., continues today with three product lines; including the original Kershaw Knives, Zero Tolerance Knives, and Shun Cutlery which primarily markets kitchen cutlery.

Over the years, Kershaw Knives has worked with several custom knifemakers. Cutlery Hall of Famer Ken Onion, a custom knife maker and inventor of the “SpeedSafe” assisted opening mechanism, is the premier knife designer for Kershaw Knives. Kershaw has also collaborated with custom knifemakers Grant and Gavin Hawk, Frank Centofante, and Ernest Emerson. Kershaw has released models that were developed in collaboration with National Geographic, Jeep, Orange County Choppers, the American Professional Rodeo Association, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Kershaw manufactures excellent knives and has built a very strong customer fan base due to their innovative designs and their quality control.
