Released in 2004 the full-sized Manix was such a success that Spyderco brought out a small version called the Manix 2. Introduced in 2006 this downsized version quickly became a mainstay of Spyderco's US-made product line. When Spyderco combined the traditional look of brown canvas Micarta scales and CPM CRU-WEAR blade steel, they dubbed "CruCarta," this distinctive pairing of old-school, high-performance materials became an instant classic.

The scales of this knife is sanded smooth but left unpolished, so they will naturally patina with age and handling to develop their own unique character. The handle has a framework of stainless steel liners covered by slim brown canvas Micarta scales. Strategically placed jimping on the edges of the liners ensures a secure grip, while the open-backed construction simplifies cleaning and maintenance. The reversible pocket clip supports left or right-hand tip-up carry and a lined lanyard hole allows for the attachment of lanyards or fobs.

The 3-3/8" leaf shaped blade has a hardness of 60-62 Rc. Spyderco's patented Ball Bearing lock holds the blade in place. The closed length measures 4-5/8". Weighs 4.9 oz. Made in the U.S.A. Suggested Retail $240.00.

Spyderco

In 1981, Spyderco ventured into the world of knife making by introducing their first folding knife, the C01 Worker. This knife was the first in the industry to feature a round hole in the blade design that allowed for fast, one-hand opening, now the company’s trademark, and the first to feature a pocket clip. The trademarked round hole is the most recognizable feature of a Spyderco knife and it facilitates the easy opening and closing of these knives with one hand while also offering convenient access and maximum control while opening as well as accommodating large, small or gloved hands.

Spyderco’s recognizable appearance is a result of designing ergonomically functional tools rather than applying lipstick and nylons to a pocketknife. Spyderco’s knives may look unusual, but they will never be called unusable or undependable. When you purchase a Spyderco knife, you are buying a high quality reliable cutting tool that was designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort.
