Randy Lee Short Dagger with California Buckeye Burl
Item #: RLK-D732BEB
$995.00
This Short Dagger came about following our success with a previous one with a 6" blade that Randy made for us. A few months ago, I asked him to make six of this little dagger with different handle materials, with the idea that I would choose one for the A.G. Russell™ catalog and we would sell the other five through The Cutting Edge®. We just received those six knives. Our customers tend to like natural materials, so I selected the one he made with California Buckeye Burl.
The 3-1⁄2" dagger blade is 440C stainless at 54-56 Rc. Randy says that this provides maximum toughness, suitable for the intended function. It measures just over 3/4" wide at the widest point. The handle is California Buckeye Burl. The double hilt and the butt cap are nickel silver with thin washer spacers of nickel silver and black Micarta between the burl handle and the hilt and butt. The entire knife has a high mirror polish. Measures 7-1⁄8" tip to butt. Weighs 5.7 oz. Includes a hand tooled brown leather sheath made by Randy's wife Sonja. All handmade in the U.S.A.

Randy Lee
Randy made his first knife in a high school shop class. He remained fascinated and years later, after studying with local makers, he decided to get serious and buy the proper equipment; this was 1979. It was 1988, however, before he attended his first knife show. Since then he attends about six shows a year. A serious hunter, Randy field tests all of his designs. He wants them to work as well as they look. He is fortunate to have a wife who can make and decorate such fine sheaths. His sheaths are definitely a step above what is typical on knives of this price level.
