Tortoise shell has been in use since ancient times for combs, boxes, picture frames, inlays in furniture, guitar picks and much more. In the knife world, it was used for years for handle scales. Since the trade of tortoise shell was banned, it has been imitated with synthetic materials. This Trapper from Boker® uses a synthetic Tortoise shell for the handle scales. It is a really good imitation.

The American Trapper, no matter where it is made, is a classic. Two blades from the same end, a clip and a long spey, define this pattern. This version from Boker has the traditional nickle silver bolsters and caps with brass liners and pins. The obverse side of the clip point blade is etched with the Tree Brand mark. The round shield is embossed with the Boker Tree and the word Germany. It is a slip joint.

The two blades are a 3-1/4" clip point and a 3-1/4" spey blade. Both blades are polished D2 steel at 59-61 Rc. Measures 4-1/4" closed. Weighs 3.6 oz. Boker Manufactured. Suggested retail is $66.95.
