The M16® series is the most popular CRKT has ever developed. The late Kit Carson designed this and many of his other groundbreaking knives in his shop in Vine Grove, Kentucky. Kit's lasting legacy comes from his influence on the knife industry—he's known for popularizing the flipper, which is now a household component. He is also remembered for his service in the U.S. Military, retiring as Master Sergeant, and as a member of the Cutlery Hall of Fame.
This M16®14XD model comes with an ambidextrous Crossbar Lock that is paired with with IKBS™ ball-bearing pivot for seamless deployment and easy one-hand closing. The spear point blade in tough D2 steel provides versatility in all cutting tasks and long lasting wear resistance for hard use scenarios. The blade has Veff Serrations™ that provide superior cutting power of rope and straps. The lightweight handle is made of Grivory®—an aircraft-grade thermoplastic that’s specifically engineered for strength, durability and offers positive grip in all conditions.
The 3-7/8" tanto combo edge blade has a hardness of 60-62 Rc. The closed length measures 5-1/4". The black coated pocket clip is reversible for a tip-up right or left hand carry. Weighs 5.3 oz. Made in Tawain. Suggested Retail $100.00.
