The Delica® 4 is one of Spyderco's most popular and iconic models. It just makes sense that they would elevate this model by adding their proprietary CPM® SPY27® blade steel. Spyderco has long been an industry leader in the use of exotic, high-performance blade steels. After years of using the best materials the world's leading steel manufacturers could provide, they decided it was time to create their own. In close cooperation with Crucible® Industries, Spyderco has developed CPM SPY27—a particle metallurgy stainless steel containing a proprietary mix of alloys, including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen, and cobalt. This remarkable composition, enhanced by the amplifying effects of cobalt and the state-of-the-art Crucible Particle Metallurgy process, is produced exclusively for Spyderco. Every knife made with this steel will also have a distinctive cobalt-blue handle color that highlights its elite pedigree.

The satin finished blade features a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ for quick, one-handed opening with either hand. The 2-7/8" blade is leaf-shaped and flat saber-ground with a strong tip and has a hardness of 60-62 Rc. The injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales are the signature cobalt-blue color. Includes a lockback and a 4-way pocket clip allow for tip-up or tip-down carry and left-hand or right-hand opening. Measures 4-1/4" closed and weighs 2.3 oz. Made in Japan. Suggested retail is $160.00.

Spyderco

In 1981, Spyderco ventured into the world of knife making by introducing their first folding knife, the C01 Worker. This knife was the first in the industry to feature a round hole in the blade design that allowed for fast, one-hand opening, now the company’s trademark, and the first to feature a pocket clip. The trademarked round hole is the most recognizable feature of a Spyderco knife and it facilitates the easy opening and closing of these knives with one hand while also offering convenient access and maximum control while opening as well as accommodating large, small or gloved hands.

Spyderco’s recognizable appearance is a result of designing ergonomically functional tools rather than applying lipstick and nylons to a pocketknife. Spyderco’s knives may look unusual, but they will never be called unusable or undependable. When you purchase a Spyderco knife, you are buying a high quality reliable cutting tool that was designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort.
