Buck Zipper
Item #: BU191BR
$134.95
The Gut Hook was invented by Sid Bell, "The Alaskan Silversmith". He gave Merle Seguine a model of the knife whittled from wood. Merle made a knife for him, becoming the first knifemaker to use this innovation. Many makers of handmade knives have interpreted or misinterpreted this feature on hunting knives, as have several knife manufacturers. Buck's version is especially well done, the blunt top makes it very difficult to cut anything by mistake. You make a small cut into the hide with the point of your knife and then insert the hook and it acts just like a "Zipper". The 1⁄4" cutting edge of the hook means that it will easily cut the heaviest hide you will find in this country, including Alaska. 4-1⁄8" drop point, hollow ground blade of 420HC at 58 Rc. Brass hilt and butt. Measures 8-1⁄2" overall. Made in U. S. A.

Buck Knives
Buck Knives has been around for a very long time. In fact, Buck Knives was just switching from handmade knives out of a Southern California Garage to factory made knives about the same time we began the A.G. Russell ™ Knife mail order business. Over the past half century buck has become one of the largest and most important knife companies in the world. They are so well known, in some parts of the country pocketknives are referred to as “Buck Knives.”
