We introduced the A.G. Russell™ Shopmade® California Bowie in February 2010 with Desert Ironwood scales and have created this iconic pattern with many different materials for the handle scales in the years since. Turquoise is a new color for us and will be pretty limited for this knife. Out of our order for slabs of wood large enough for this handle, we found only a small quantity with color consistent enough to consider.
The 8-1/2" classic Bowie blade is 154CM heat-treated to 59-61 Rc. It measures 1-1/4" at its widest point and 3/16" thick. The hilt, of 420 stainless, is precisely fitted to the tang, reminiscent of the bowies made by D. E. Henry in the 1970s. The sheath is our own design and is handmade of first class leather. We are proud of this fine example of an American Bowie Knife made completely in the U.S.A. Handmade in our own shop here in Rogers, Arkansas and marked "A.G. Russell Shopmade®". Measures 13-1/4" overall. Weighs 10.6 oz.
