Ben Seward Body Guard With Desert Ironwood
Item #: BSWK-F25DI
$750.00
Ben started making knives in 2009 after attending the W.F. Moran School of Bladesmithing in Old Washington, Arkansas. He has achieved the Journeyman Smith ranking from the American Bladesmith Society. Ben is a full time maker who enjoys forging steel, making pattern welded damascus and Stainless San Mai. It doesn't matter if he is making an investment grade art piece or a field grade EDC defense or hunting knife, he says his goal is to make each blade a high performance cutting tool. Ben is one of the increasing number of young makers to watch. It is encouraging to see the quality of the work these folks are producing.
This is Ben's fighter that he calls the Body Guard. The blade steel is ProCut, a high carbon steel produced in Europe. It offers the toughness and ease of sharpening of a traditional carbon steel with increased edge retention from the addition of tungsten and vanadium alloys. The 5-1<2215>2" deeply swedged fighter blade of ProCut carbon steel at 62-64 Rc. has an antique oxide finish, which Ben creates himself. It is very similar to blueing. The Desert Ironwood handle scales are attached to the tang with Nickel Silver pins. Measures 10" tip to butt. Weighs 8.6 oz. Includes a rugged Water Buffalo Leather pouch style belt sheath. Handmade in Arkansas/Missouri.
