Randall Model 11 Alaskan Skinner
Item #: RA-M11S34
$575.00
with Stag Handle
This was Randall’s original drop point blade. After more than 70 years, it is still one of their most usable knives. Designed in 1952 by Tommy Thompson, noted Alaskan guide, for big game skinning, with a point that is "dropped" below the top of the blade to prevent cutting too deeply through the skin when used point first. The top of the blade is notched in front of the hilt for thumb placement.
We first offered the Alaskan Skinner this year with a leather handle. We ordered just a few to see how our customers would respond and offered them only on our website. The response was spectacular. Apparently, you like this knife as well as I do. It was the first Randall I bought many, many years ago.
This is a serious hunting knife with a 3/16" thick 3-1/4" blade of O1 high carbon tool steel (not stainless) at 53-55 Rc., Stag handle, brass hilt and butt cap and a Model A leather sheath with sharpening stone. Measures 7-3/8" tip to butt. We recommend RustFree™ to protect your O-1 blade from rust. (RF125 . . . . . . $8.95). Weighs 6.7 oz. Handmade in the U.S.A.
(8-2024) Due to Randall's high volume of orders, if not on our shelves when you order, delivery of Randall knives ordered from A. G. Russell is currently taking 10-12 months. If ordered directly from Randall the wait is currently about 6 years.

Randall Made Knives
For over 75 years, Randall knives have been the best-known handmade knives in the world. No two Randall Made™ knives are exactly alike, for no jigs or patterns are used in their final construction. Large-scale commercial production with this kind of attention to detail is not feasible and that's why knives of this unique quality are not widely available.
Gary Randall, the present owner, took over from his father, W. D. "Bo" Randall, in the mid 1970's and the shop remains so busy that today it takes over five years to get a knife directly from them. We are one of the few authorized Randall dealers, and try to keep a stock of their knives. Because our orders with Randall are booked years in advance, if we don't have the knife that you want in stock, we can usually have it for you about 10 months, knives with stag will take a year or more. For anyone wanting to order directly from Randall the price will be lower but the wait will be extremely long.
