Randall Model 16 Special #1 Fighter
Item #: RA-M16SPGM
$675.00
with Border Patrol Handle
The Model 1 is still Randall's most popular model. As has been the case since the 1940s, when Bo Randall made knives for World War II troops, they still focus very heavily on soldiers going into active combat. Any time I get into a discussion about Randall knives with a group of troops, from 20 years old to 70 years old, one of them will have a story about how they either visited the Randall shop, wrote a letter or made a phone call, and Randall managed to get a knife to them before they were deployed.
The Model 16SP #1 is a variation of that original Model 1. This is a serious knife with a 7" blade of 1/4" stainless steel, all with a Border Patrol handle of Green Linen Micarta® and a brass double guard. The top edge of the blade is sharpened approximately 3". (Can be special ordered with top edge unsharpened.) Measures 11-1/2" tip to butt and weighs 14.0 oz. Includes a model A leather sheath with stone pouch on the front. No one includes a higher quality sheath with their knives than Randall. Handmade in the U.S.A.
Due to Randall's high volume of orders, if A.G. Russell Knives does not have this knife ordered delivery is currently taking about 10 months. If ordered directly from Randall the wait is currently about 6 years.

Randall Made Knives
For over 75 years, Randall knives have been the best-known handmade knives in the world. No two Randall Made™ knives are exactly alike, for no jigs or patterns are used in their final construction. Large-scale commercial production with this kind of attention to detail is not feasible and that's why knives of this unique quality are not widely available.
Gary Randall, the present owner, took over from his father, W. D. "Bo" Randall, in the mid 1970's and the shop remains so busy that today it takes over five years to get a knife directly from them. We are one of the few authorized Randall dealers, and try to keep a stock of their knives. Because our orders with Randall are booked years in advance, if we don't have the knife that you want in stock, we can usually have it for you about 10 months, knives with stag will take a year or more. For anyone wanting to order directly from Randall the price will be lower but the wait will be extremely long.
