A cornerstone in Spyderco's Save and Serve line up the Military series meets the requirements of a high-performance, light-weight folder designed for hard use. The original Military model was born after someone asked Spyderco's owner Sal Glesser, "If your son were going into the military what folding knife would you send him with?"

This expression of the iconic Military pairs a CPM CRU-WEAR blade with classic brown canvas Micarta handle scales. The blade capitalizes on CRU-WEAR's hard-earned reputation for taking and holding a superior edge while remaining tough and resilient. The precision-machined scales are supported by skeletonized stainless steel liners, that also forms the backbone of the knife's Compression Lock mechanism. They reveal the Micarta's handsome layered construction and provide a platform for a four-position pocket clip and lined lanyard hole that support all possible carry positions and preferences.

Spacers between the handle scales create a gap running the handle's full length exposing the inside workings for inspection and cleaning. The handle flares slightly at the front end creating a finger choil and at the butt end, which keeps the knife from slipping forward or backward in the hand while sawing or making tough or aggressive cuts. A contoured polished metal clip is set for right-hand tip-down carry but is reversible for a tip-up or down right or left-hand carry. The blade measures 4" and the closed length is 5-1/2". Weighs 4.3 oz. Made in the U.S.A. in Golden, Colorado. Suggested Retail $305.00.

Spyderco

In 1981, Spyderco ventured into the world of knife making by introducing their first folding knife, the C01 Worker. This knife was the first in the industry to feature a round hole in the blade design that allowed for fast, one-hand opening, now the company’s trademark, and the first to feature a pocket clip. The trademarked round hole is the most recognizable feature of a Spyderco knife and it facilitates the easy opening and closing of these knives with one hand while also offering convenient access and maximum control while opening as well as accommodating large, small or gloved hands.

Spyderco’s recognizable appearance is a result of designing ergonomically functional tools rather than applying lipstick and nylons to a pocketknife. Spyderco’s knives may look unusual, but they will never be called unusable or undependable. When you purchase a Spyderco knife, you are buying a high quality reliable cutting tool that was designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort.
