Spyderco Sage 5 Lightweight CPM REX 121
Item #: SPC123BORP
$255.00
Spyderco’s popular Sage Series is an ongoing project that uses a single design to highlight a specific lock mechanism and acknowledges the knifemaker or designer who invented it. The Compression Lock® mechanism was invented by Sal Glesser, Spyderco’s co-founder. This simple locking mechanism takes the basic concept of the LinerLock and supercharges it with a radically different lock geometry making it far stronger than a LinerLock. Located on the handle spine it makes unintentional lock release much less likely and allows the knife to be safely closed with one hand without ever placing your fingers in the path of the blade edge.
The blade is crafted from state-of-the-art CPM® REX® 121® tool steel, a new high vanadium cobalt bearing tool steel designed to offer a combination of extreme hardness and edge retenetion. This Sage 5 showcases REX 121’s properties in its full-flat ground satin finished blade. To furthue distinguish its elite status, the knife also features distinctive burnt-orange color peel-ply textured G-10 scales.
The 3" modified drop point blade has a plain edge with a satin finish. The burnt-orange peel ply G-10 handle scales are home tonested, skeletonized stainless steel liners. The wire pocket clip is reversible for a tip-up left or right-hand carry. Closed length measures 4-1/8". Weighs 3.0 oz. Made in Taiwan. Suggested retail $328.00.

Spyderco
In 1981, Spyderco ventured into the world of knife making by introducing their first folding knife, the C01 Worker. This knife was the first in the industry to feature a round hole in the blade design that allowed for fast, one-hand opening, now the company’s trademark, and the first to feature a pocket clip. The trademarked round hole is the most recognizable feature of a Spyderco knife and it facilitates the easy opening and closing of these knives with one hand while also offering convenient access and maximum control while opening as well as accommodating large, small or gloved hands.
Spyderco’s recognizable appearance is a result of designing ergonomically functional tools rather than applying lipstick and nylons to a pocketknife. Spyderco’s knives may look unusual, but they will never be called unusable or undependable. When you purchase a Spyderco knife, you are buying a high quality reliable cutting tool that was designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort.
