The Tenacious from Spyderco is built on a framework of stainless steel liners. Skeletonized to reduce weight, they extend the full length and width of the handle for strength. The earlier version of the Tenacious had textured handle scales of G-10. Consistant with Spyderco's C.Q.I. (Constant Quality Improvement) Spyderco has released a Lightweight version. Made lighter by using injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales. Molded with their signature Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern, the lightweight scales provide enhanced grip security during use.
The 3-3/8" blade is CPM-S35VN stainless at 58-60 Rc. It is leaf-shaped and ground flat from spine to cutting edge for top cutting capability. The blade's shape coupled with an oversized Spyderco® Round Hole and textured spine jimping allow you to open the blade and position your thumb on the spine with confidence - ready for work. The fiberglass-nylon handle scales are a bright blue. A Walker style lock (with jimped liner) and a 4-way pocket clip allow for tip-up or tip-down carry and left-hand or right-hand opening. Measures 4-3/8" closed and weighs 3.7 oz. Made in China. Suggested retail is $160.00.
