W. R. Case and Sons® is probably the most collected knife brand in America. They often offer special knives that are available only when ordering at Tradeshows. If you collect these knives you will probably notice that sometimes they pair handle scales with embellishments that just really work together on several models, sometimes years apart.
This version has smooth navy blue synthetic handle scales with a Stars and Stripes Case Oval Shield and embellished nickel silver bolsters. It was offered on the Trapper knife pattern at the SHOT Show in 2023. This year they brought the style back and added it to the very popular Medium Stockman. Limited to the quantity ordered during the 2026 Spring Tradeshows.
The Medium Stockman has a 2-1⁄2" clip point blade, a 1-7⁄8" sheepsfoot blade and a 1-3⁄4" spey blade of Tru-Sharp surgical stainless steel at 54-57 Rc. The fluted nickel silver bolsters, brass liners and mirror polished blades are set nicely against the smooth navy blue sythentic handle scales. Ships in a cardboard cigar box. Measures 3-1⁄2" closed. Weighs 2.4 oz. Made in the U.S.A. Suggested retail is $150.00.

Case Knives
W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company is an American manufacturer of traditional pocket knives, limited edition commemoratives and collectibles. It makes American made traditional pocket knives in a variety of patterns, blade styles, and handle materials. They are particularly well known for their specialized dying process - creating beautiful and colorful bone handles. Case prefers to use their proprietary Tru-Sharp stainless steel. Tru-Sharp sharpens and polishes easily and is enjoyed by collectors all over.
The roots of the company span all the way back to 1889. W.,R. Case & Sons notably made knives in World War 1, notably the M3 Fighting Knife for servicemen and the V-42 stiletto for the Devil’s Brigade. They also made knives for NASA astronauts for when they touched back down on earth and were waiting to be picked up. The Case Company is currently owned by the Zippo Manufacturing Company, based in the same city, which is well known for their Zippo lighters. You can see great synergy between the companies as they share equipment and expertise like inlaid dyed bone handles and laser engraving machinery.
