War Eagle Blades Model 42 Locking Liner Folders

With these two knives, we are introducing a new brand for A. G. Russell™. For the past few years we have been working on applying the A. G. Russell™ mark to only those knives that we design. But we are offered so many good designs from other sources that it is obvious we need a second brand for knives where the designer is unknown or where the design does not comfortably fit into the A. G. Russell™ program.
The brand we have chosen is reflective of the 1970s when I was selling War Eagle Whetstones from my farm on War Eagle Creek, here in Northwest Arkansas. Knives with the W.E.B.™ mark will be made to meet our standards of quality and value. The prices will vary widely and production will be from around the world, wherever we find knives that meet our quality and design standards, and will include both folders and fixed blades. We will not mark any handmade knife with the W.E.B.™ mark.

War Eagle Blade Model 42 - The knife is perfect size for my EDC needs. The G10 handle is very nice to look at. However, one of the securing pins on the handle is not flush with the handle and is actually marred creating a small semi sharp obstruction. I tried to tighten the pin into the handle but it would not move. I tried to buff the sharp edge with sand paper and was marginally successful. However the defect is still there, visible and rough to the touch. I notice another pin, nicely counter sunk into the handle, but that pin also appears slightly marred. I find the spine of the blade to be very pronounced. The knife doesn't appear to be that sharp coming out of the box and the tip appears unevenly ground so that will take some re-profiling. Overall I like the knife, it is perfect size for my needs but does have quality control issues as noted.
Changes: I would make the clip reversible for point up carry. I would smooth the spine of the knife, maybe make the thumb stud just a little larger. Rating: 6/10 Michael M. Bellingham, WA
My daughter purchased a War Eagle Copperhead knife for Father's Day and I am impressed with the quality and workmanship of the knife. I told her she spent too much on her father and she said it was not much at all. This knife displayed craftsmanship and fit that would cost upwards of $70 or more. This knife is almost too nice to put in my pocket but when she told me how much she paid for it, it will go in my pocket and be used for the purpose for which it was made. Normand, S. Fairhaven, MA
I have purchased many items from you. The War Eagle Locking Liner Folder has become my favorite folder. The blade is excellent and the overall quality of the knife is outstanding. Unlike many folders that have a finger guard/ flipper/ protrusion in the area of the hinge, this knife is smooth and does not dig into my hand when grasping to remove from pocket. Thomas S. On a recent motorcycle trip I decided to stop in at the store in Rogers, Arkansas. I was pleased to see a nice, simple store layout with friendly people. It appeared most of what the catalog offers was in the store. I had a chance to see in person some of the knifes I was interested in browsing the catalogs. My surprise was the War Eagle Blades. The Drop Point Folder was a much nicer knife in build quality than I would have thought for the price point. I now have a souvenir of my visit and a new everyday knife. I've always been very satisfied with items purchased online and now I have a great memory of stopping in to see y'all. Thank You. David W. The Colony, TX
I know there have been some who have cast doubt as to the manufacturing of knives in China, but let me be one to say that I am only glad that you found a way to keep your business fruitful, while still providing amazing quality to knife nuts like me. I have found absolutely NO reason for concern and feel that the knives being made are excellent in every way. Please keep doing what you must to stay in business and keep up the great work. Dale D.
